Get to Know Sponsor Tim Parker!
The Famous Meatballers values all our customers, including the people and organizations who sponsor us. One of those sponsors is Major League Soccer’s Tim Parker. Tim was promoted to MLS play in 2015 and starred initially with the Vancouver Whitecaps. Now he has joined the New York Red Bulls as their newest defender.
Tim is a native of Hicksville New York and was a high school soccer standout. He was a two-time team captain, earned NSCAA All-American and All-Region II honors, as well as being on the ESPN All-American second team. He was also recognized as the Gatorade New York Boys Soccer Player of the Year. During his high school play, Tim scored the winning goal in the Nassau County Championships and was named Nassau County player of the year.
Tim made his MLS debut with Vancouver in May 2015 in a 0-0 draw game against the Portland Timbers. The following week he made his first MLS game start and played a full 90 minutes. In the 2015 Playoffs, he started both legs of the Conference Semifinal and was named Man of the Match for the second leg.
In 2016 Tim placed second among team players for his 2,551 minutes of play and tied for second for his 28 starts and 29 game appearances. He was fourth in the MLS for recording 155 clearances and fifth for his 23 blocks. He was ranked 18th on the MLS 24 under 24 list. He also saw international play in 2016 after being called up twice to the United States senior men’s team — a January training camp in California with friendly matches against Canada and Iceland, and again in October against New Zealand. He also played a full 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw at Columbia in the Olympic qualifying playoff in March 2016. Now in 2018, the 25-year-old Tim Parker has started in 74 of the 76 MLS matches he has played.
The Famous Meatballers thanks Tim Parker for his sponsorship, and also thanks all of our loyal customers who purchase our Italian style meatballs in marinara sauce from local retailers in the greater New York area. Chef Joe Chiodi and our organization thanks you all for your support!
